Sydney and Sachin had a beautiful union at the Octagon Barn in San Luis Obispo, spreading love and harmony in heritage at their Indian-American wedding. The beautiful details were filled with vibrant colors, and personalized additions that showcased an eventful memory at every corner. I had the pleasure of interviewing Candice with Heyday Weddings about the execution of the special day.

How did the wedding design express the couples love story?

"They are both fun-loving easy-going people with a fondness for the outdoors and nature. We brought in live plants to help decorate the lounge area and frame signage and the florals were bright showcasing the fall season."

Memorable Details

"The bride's father handmade the wood mandap that they got married under which was so special. Also, we installed gorgeous lighting and draping which was the first time for the historic octagon barn. The ceremony was extraordinary since it was a blend of both American and Indian traditions. The first dance was magical under the twinkle lights."

Were there any challenges you had to overcome on the day of the wedding?

"We had an unexpected heat wave and wind. We made a last-minute purchase of parasol umbrellas and fans to help guests stay cool and I sent one of my girls on a mission to buy sandbags to weigh down the cocktail tables that were basically taking flight!"
