On a gorgeous day at the enchanting San Luis Obispo wedding venue Higuera Ranch, Alyssa and Kevin got married in front of all of their loved ones and had a magical day put on by San Luis Obispo event planner Amanda Holder Events. The couple had basked in a golden hour sunset in their vineyard couple session and danced the night away under shining disco balls in the reception room. Everything was captured beautifully by Poppy and Vine Photography, and I had the pleasure of interviewing the bride about the big day.

Their Love Story
"We met in 2017 on our study abroad program Semester at Sea! We met on the first night and were pretty much inseparable from there. After college Kevin moved to California where I was still in school. Kevin proposed in 2022 on our favorite hike in LA overlooking the city and ocean!"
The Inspiration
"We didn't really know what we were doing, we actually had a wedding venue booked before we were officially engaged. We just picked things that we were made us really excited. We wanted it to be casual, fun and for everyone to have a good time!"

"Overall we did burnt orange and earthy colors."
The Details
"We loved the venue. The vineyard was our aisle so we were really excited about walking down that! Also we had a mini donut truck instead of a cake which all our guests loved!"
Memorable Moments
"We aren't that traditional so we all kind of got ready together in the main house on the property so we really got to spend most of the day together."
Knowing what you know now... what advice would you have for other brides planning their wedding?
"Do whatever makes you happy! It is your day!"
What was the most challenging part about planning your wedding?
"Staying on budget!"
