On a peaceful day in Arroyo Grande, Emma and Jonah had a wistful wedding full of love and laughs. The gorgeous estate that held their union was the perfect backdrop to Emma's vision of neutral color tones and a boho California ambiance, with dried florals created by Idle Wild Floral and vintage pieces that put the entire day together. I had the pleasure of interviewing the bride about the special day.

Their Love Story

"Jonah and I met at The Graduate in SLO on country night (so romantic!) He asked me to dance and literally swept me off my feet. We dated for about 5 years until he asked me to marry him right as I got off the ski lift in Park City, UT. Literally felt on top of the world. We couldn't wait to be married so the big day came about 8 months later!"

Surprise, Jonah!

"We were planning on doing a first look anyway so I thrifted a dress for $5 at an estate sale because I really wanted to surprise Jonah to ease some nerves, so his friend Cobi Armstrong surprised him as the first first look. Jonah said he had a feeling right before because he didn't hear any heels but it was still a great moment!"

The Inspiration

I've always been drawn to neutrals and cozy vibes so I brought that to our wedding design! Luckily Jonah literally had no strong opinions so I basically had free rein."

 Color Palette

"Anything cream, white or brown."

The Details

"I was most excited to see the florals come together. They exceeded my expectations and I still have all the dried florals as a keepsake! I was also really excited to see the scenic view and experience the day with all my favorite people!"

Memorable Moments

"I was fully expecting to be a nervous wreck at the altar but it actually felt like time stood still and we were just in the moment. I'll never forget walking down the aisle to marry my best friend."

Knowing what you know now... what advice would you have for other brides planning their wedding?

"Trust yourself and don't let other opinions influence you. It is you and your partner's special day. Whether it's a big or small celebration, if it reflects you as a couple, it'll be perfect. Also, don't sweat the small details because it really doesn't matter in the end. If you're planning a wedding, know that it will all be worth it!"
