What inspired you to become a wedding planner?
"I have always been a planner by nature... any chance I had to plan a party or an event through school, college, sorority- I was always volunteering to get involved! In college I was an avid photographer and began shooting some weddings for friends as I became more familiar with the wedding process I realized how chaotic it can be when you don't have someone leading the entire day. A combination of experiencing chaotic weddings, some very disappointing oversights at my own wedding and just loving the process of coordinating, designing and planning events, led me down this path."
What is your process for getting to know a couple's vision and turning into a reality?
"I love spending time talking and listening to their stories. Every story is unique, every couple is unique, every planning experience is unique. I always treat my clients with the time and attention they deserve so that I can help them create the perfect celebration that is a reflection of them."
Can you describe one of your favorite weddings you've planned?
"There are so many I don't know that I have an all time favorite. What I can say though is that I try to find something new and unique and special that I love about each event I plan- whether it be the way my client last month greeted her guests (in her wedding dress) with champagne before the ceremony or the way another bride and groom walked themselves down the aisle, each unique detail is always my favorite!"
What's one piece of advice you'd give to couples just starting to plan their wedding?
"Stop what you're doing and hire a planner first! I know it's a big self indulgent to say this but even if it's not me- hire your planner before you make any other decisions. I promise this will make the entire process so much easier!"
What makes you stand out from other wedding planners? What makes you sparkle?
"I think everyone has their own little sparkle but mine is definitely the longevity of my business and my reputation in the wedding industry. I hear time and time again how great it is to work with my team, how we are so level headed and calm, how things always run so smooth and how grateful clients are to have such a good experience from start to finish. I think that's my sparkle- making people enjoy the process and giving them the opportunity to love their day more than anything else!"
