If you're looking for a vintage cowboy elopement style wedding, grab your bolo ties and pearly bows and look no further! In this charming, retro Kacey-Musgraves-inspired styled shoot, San Luis Obispo's wedding coordinator Zest It Up knew exactly what mood they were going for when bringing this to life in the rustic western Templeton wedding venue The Templeton Mercantile. San Luis Obispo wedding photographer Ellie Koleen captured each intimate moment perfectly, with vivacious decorations and florals, decadent desserts topped with maraschino cherries, and a venue with incredible detail at each corner filling the photos with delightful inspiration.

The Vision

"For this shoot I envisioned a couple that had a young, playful love. A couple that was not afraid to embrace a darker moody side but kick up their heels and throw on some rhinestones and embrace fringed balloons too. The Ceremony was simple and low in contrast- as a stark difference to the traditional trendy light, bright and airy outside ceremony. We went indoors and brought in some non-traditional elements- wood pedestals, copper pipes, embroidered fabric and natural ferns all combined to make the perfect intimate backdrop illuminated by a playful YEEHAW. It was important to show how the Templeton Mercantile space could evolve with the needs of the celebration- whether it be an indoor ceremony and reception to a late night after party dive bar- you can get all the vibes as you walk from space to space."

The Inspiration

"Kacey Musgraves, Dolly Parton, pearls, vintage western, flash photography, dive bar saloon, moody intimate vignettes."

The Details

"I was very excited to dream up the saloon bar transformation. What started as a classic moody, dark, western wooden saloon- we crafted up a playful, colorful and elevated experience for guests. After walking through the heavy velvet curtain, guests were greeted with shining disco balls and iridescent tinsel fringe cascading from clusters of colorful sherbert balloons which then spilled off the ceiling to the bar and floor. I was so excited to take a standard piano and highlight it with flowers, disco balls and support the epic ice cream cart from Haute Sugar that served ice cream cones topped off with a colorful edible flowers. Truly a big moment every was excited to share!"

More Details

"I was also very excited about what I like to call the "grand finale" which was the final room in the venue and design, Club Car Bar, where I envisioned guests being transported into another era. Inspired from a train club car, this moody back room is where the locals will meet up to grab a drink- tell a story and cozy into the lounges after a night of dancing and dining. With elaborate hand painted murals adorning the walls and a contrast of white marble and wood barstools, I was excited about the juxtaposition in design....divebar meets elevated speak easy vibes for sure. The western vintage inspired cake alongside a crystal cut champagne tower made for some traditional reception moments with flair. Candlelight and marquee letters paired with an epic band made for the perfect late night party!"
