Jaime and Carl had a stunning wedding that really captured their personalities. Located at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church and the beautiful Cayucos Creek Barn, this lovely day was full of love and fun with friends and family. The rustic details mixed with 50's glam made this wedding day unique and displayed this couples identity and charm. The wonderful Alex Creswell was there to capture every entertaining and memorable moment from this delightful day. Enjoy!

Girl Meets Boy...

-->Carl and I have known each other for about 10 years. Carl does marketing for a surf company and runs their international and regional surf contests. I started competing in Carl's surf contests when I was in my early teens, so we were around each other throughout the years! In 2009, after surfing in one of the contests, Carl told me a few friends were heading up to the Mid State Fair that evening and said I should go. I met Carl up at the fair thinking it was going to be a big party with all of the kids from the contest! I showed up and it was Carl and his 2 buddies and their wife and girlfriend and kid. It ended up being an unofficial awkward first date/triple date haha! It was the first time we had ever hung out! We hit it off right away and had a blast that night!! Our first kiss was on the Ferris Wheel!! We dated for 3 yrs before we got engaged. Carl popped the question while we were on a trail ride with 2 of our friends out in Creston. Our friends pretended they had to ride off to check on some cattle, and they would meet us at the top of this little hill. Once we got to the top of the hill, there was a blanket and flowers and champagne set up. Carl got off his horse and down on one knee. It was magical!

Wedding Planning Inspiration...

-->This was our JunK GyPsy, Deer camp, 50s american grit meets glam Honky Tonk wedding! We both LoVe and are inspired by old country music, traveling and life on the road, old cars, and anything with a little rust and dust! We make trips out to Texas a few times a year and always go pickin' at antiques in Roundtop, TX, see some of our favorite Texas music like Dale Watson, and visit some of our best friends ! Our wedding was inspired by all the things we love, especially all our trips out East! Good junk, good food, good music, and good friends... that is always a dream day in our books.. so we created it for our wedding!!! We came really close to moving almost our whole house into that barn to.... it was a lot of work but it made it really personal, and we didn't have to buy any wedding decorations at least!

-->Real Moonshine on all the tables! We called it "Hitchin Hooch"... even though we cut it a few times with water so people didn't get too sick.. it ended up being the BeST WoRst thing ever hahah! Most everyone got a little loose after the moonshine. We heard a lot of great stories the next day.

We were pretty excited about our party favors to... we put at our guests seats, custom tire pressure gauges .. they had our name and wedding date and the saying " kick the tire and light the fire". We figured everyone could use a tire gauge.. and if you don't know how to use one, maybe the guy sitting next to you will show you how by the end of the night!

Color Palet...

-->We didn't have any specific colors. It was more of a hodge podge junk-o-rama soiree!

RADDEST Wedding Vendors...

-->RIBLINE!!!! The food was AMAZING and eating ribs in my wedding dress was a dream!! Monty Mills and the Lucky Horseshoe band was sooo much fun!!! Monty has been a farrier in the county for ages now and is extremely well known and well liked. His band sums up just that. It is good ol' fashion boot stompin music and it made our wedding that much more special for us.

-->The garter and bouquet beer chug contest! The girls all had to chug a Coors to win the bouquet, and the guys the same for the garter. It was pretty funny.

We loved watching all the little rag a muffins run around and have a blast all day, especially my little flower girls throwing the redneck darts at the mattress. Weddings to us.. are about love, and starting a whole new adventure together.. and nothing sums that up more to us than watching all the little kids running around and playing in the grass and dirt together and having fun and showing each other genuine love... because that's all kids know how to do.. and that's all we want to do too.

Advice for Other "Newbie Brides"...

-->Take your time and have fun with it. Also, focus the wedding around each other, and your likes, hobbies, interests!! Stay away from just following too many wedding trends .... make it more personal..so in 10 yrs when you look back, even if it all seems dated .. who cares because it encompassed the 2 of you as a couple.
