Festive, boho touches dressed The White Barn perfectly at this couples whimsical wedding. Charlene + Albert's personality were in every detail, and it's hard not to smile from ear to ear as you witness their playful love, captured by Tessa Tadlock. Keep scrolling to see why we fell in love with this San Luis Obispo wedding.
Girl meets boy!
We met in the summer of 2011 through mutual friends on a trip in the south of Taiwan. We actually got in a scooter accident together and both got sent to the ER. Needless to say, sparks flew that night - figuratively and literally, and the rest was history! After years of long distance, we eventually both landed jobs in Los Angeles. Our wedding date marked our 7 year dating-anniversary, turned wedding anniversary!
Wedding Planning Inspiration
We love the outdoors and The White Barn was the perfect combination of idyllic yet functional. The venue and location gave us a blank slate to create a dreamy boho rustic wedding with inspiration from Free People and Anthropologie.
Color Palette
Silver sage, teal, blush and matte gold.
The Details
There are few things we love more than food, cocktails and desserts which is why we hired the best caterer (Field to Table Catering), the best bartender (Sidecar Cocktail Co.) and the best bakery (Paper Cake Events) in the town. We loved enjoying the dishes, cocktails and pastries we carefully picked out for our guests, all of which perfectly represented us as a couple.
Memorable Moments
Tell us about 1 or 2 memorable moments (from the wedding day) that stick out to you.
We love our closest friends- they're a large part of why we are a couple so we incorporated a flash-mobesque grand entrance/ group dance as a segway to our first dance as a married couple! It was so much fun coming up with a dance as a group and it was also a great way to get the guests amped up for the reception :)
Raddest Wedding Vendors
All of our vendors honestly exceeded our expectations but if we had to name a few they'd be Adornments Flowers, Macrame by Kari and our photographer Tessa Tadlock! You can tell from the fruit of their labor that they're masters of their craft. All of these artists required little to no direction yet produced perfect end products that perfectly matched our aesthetic.
Advice for Newbie Brides
Set weekly and monthly milestones so you don't get overwhelmed! And don't sweat the small stuff!
What was the most challenging part about planning your wedding?
Knowing when to draw the line in terms catering to guests. When you try to please everyone, the purpose of the wedding can get a bit convoluted. It was important to recognize when to rein it in and to be a little selfish!
